A person in two parts…

A person in two parts

I often feel there are two parts of me, the disabled me who has to check everything before she makes plans, and the other part, who just wants to be spontaneous, who wants to find some old cosy cafe, go up some rickety steps and sit in some comfy nook looking out at all the people down below. Unfortunately not an option and disability and cosy old buildings don’t usually go hand in hand. Neither does sustainability most of the time. I would love to be able to chop up loose melons or pumpkins, cycle on a bike or go on a train without worrying no one will be at the other end with a ramp. Alas it was not meant to be, and I’ll always say my disability has given me more than it’s taken away. My recent role in Doctor Who shows that, but back to sustainability, rather than focusing on what I can’t do going to look at what I can, I already eat veggie (trying to be vegan) buy all my clothes second hand usually and put my spring onions in water to make them last longer. Now I want to see what else I can do, so going to kick this blog off with a zero waste month. Just as a proviso I am not anticipating that I will be able to avoid plastic completely and pretty sure my cat will have a riot if I switch her to canned food but going to do what I can and limit waste as much as possible. Wish me luck and let me know your zero waste accessible tips along the way.
